In the pictures this appears to have a thick wall, but in fact the structure is like fiberglass sheets sprayed with the 'stone' mixture - very thin, but with an upper, inward turning edge (NB: this edge is very sharp and can't be used to lift or move without heavy gloves). I unpacked it in place (ie, where I'm going to use it) and it was fine, no problem other than the perceived difference in the product. There were no 'flaws' anywhere. However, after one night out in the (now) cold weather, cracks are forming in the corners of the planter's upper edge. It looks as if the 'powder coating' of stone-like material is inflexible to drastic temperature change. I got this at less than half the $1300. price but would definitely NOT buy it at that price, nor buy it again at the price I paid. I will keep it - not because it's wonderful but because the packaging had to be destroyed to get it out safely and I'm just too lazy to try to package it again with new materials...too big and too hefty (although I still have all the foam panels used to 'protect' it) to try to get to a shipper.Short story: not like the 'elegant' picture, actually kind of low-end, though large.
